Save the Date by Monica Murphy

Save the Date is the perfect summer read! Readers who enjoy travel, fake relationships, second chance romances, and books that revolve around weddings are not going to want to miss Monica’s latest novel! I savored this novel- like a fine macaroon! I read it in one sitting as well. It’s a lighthearted read with an excellent cast of characters and an engaging story line. Monica Murphy can write a diverse number of books- romances, young adult thrillers, and YA romances which is why I am always coming back for more! Save the Date falls in the romance category (maybe even chick lit) and has everything it needs: a cute relationship (brother’s best friend from middle school, and second chances), character growth (Alex finally realized what […]

Bridesmaids by Jane Costello

Bridesmaids by Jane Costello

I know this is an older title but I feel like it would be a disservice not to tell people how freakin awesome this book is! I found myself laughing out loud almost the whole way through. I loved the girls in the novel, how the story revolved around weddings, being a bridesmaid (and never the bride), and friendship. There is a bit of drama towards the end (which was very unexpected), but this book is an all around good read despite this. The only problem with this novel is that it’s not available as an eBook. I think this really sucks because many people ONLY read eBooks these days because they are super easy to just download when your in the mood for a […]

Never the Bride by Charlotte Fallowfield

Never the Bride by Charlotte Fallowfield

I have always been a fan of chick lit novels but for the past few years I have pushed many books aside that reside in the genre in favor of romance books. That is going to change in 2019 though and I am starting it off with a bang! Never The Bride by Charlotte Fallowfield is everything that I love about chick lit. It’s charming, funny, relatable, and lighthearted. It may not be the most realistic of books out there (like most books we read anyway) but it’s extremely enjoyable in every other way. There were many moments (especially one scene that takes place in a local castle) that had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my face- and I couldn’t stop! […]

Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews

Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews

Mary Kay Andrews has been one of my favorite authors since I began reading adult books. This is simply because each of her books have a unique plot and her writing style is flawless. Even more, her novels exude southern charm at it’s finest, which is something I really love. With that being said, I felt no different when reading Save the Date and I adored this book to pieces. Cara, the heroine of the story, felt like a close friend of mine and when I finished the story I was pretty sad to see her go. The hero Jack was just as charming as Cara, and seeing the two go through their ups and downs in order to get to their HEA was delightful. […]

The Runaway Bridesmaid by Daisy James

This is a charming and sweet read that is sure to warm your heart! The author has a knack for keen detail and writes characters as if they are your close next door neighbors. For a debut novel, this is a wonderful read and I will surely be looking for more books by her in the future.  The first thing about this book that caught my attention is the cute cover. I am personally a sucker for sweet and gorgeous covers and this one hits the mark. In addition to this, I loved the blurb – bridesmaid is cheated on and leaves the country to find solace at her late aunt’s estate only to find more than she bargained for–. I mean this all screams […]

Perfect Weddings by Lynda Renham

This book was a lot of fun to read! While some of it was a bit over the top, I truly found myself enjoying it anyway. Who knew being a wedding planner can be so chaotic? Tehee. Overall, I found this novel to be very charming and cute. I really enjoyed the characters, I found myself laughing a whole lot, and I enjoyed the dramatics of it all. This is definitely one of those books you need to read if your looking for some light fun.  So this book is about Amy (mortician turned wedding planner). She is the most successful wedding planner in London, and everyone is scrambling to have her plan their perfect wedding. But things start to go awry when she ends […]

Always the Bridesmaid by Lindsey Kelk

This book is FABULOUS! I won this book on twitter from the author (thank you!) and hadn’t had a chance to read it… Until now. AND OMG I am so glad I read this book. I am now officially hooked on all things Lindsey Kelk and I cannot WAIT to read more of her novels. This one in particular is LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY. It’s also sweet, fun, charming, and totally adorable. I loved the characters, the plot, and all the shenanigans that go on throughout the novel. And while I have never been in Maddie’s shoes before, I can totally relate to her character as I (like her) have a hard time saying no to people EVEN WHEN they have ridiculous expectations. Gah, I […]

What Fresh Hell by Lucy Vine

What Fresh Hell is the perfect spring read. It captures the busy wedding season impeccably and has characters any female can relate to. Oh, and I don’t want to forget the laugh out loud moments that are thrown throughout the novel! I laughed a lot while reading this one. Ladies, this is a great book to anyone who loves books based around the wedding season.  Lilah Fox is living a perfectly serene existence. She has a great job, a nice boyfriend, and a handful of friends that all girls hope for. Unfortunately, this serene existence is coming into an upheaval because it’s WEDDING SEASON. These weddings (and there are many) are taking over Lilah’s life (and her bank account). And then a bombshell is dropped. […]

The Accidental Honeymoon by Portia MacIntosh

I picked up this book on a whim today and read it in one sitting- clearly, I really enjoyed it! It’s been a while since I have picked up a chick lit book and once again, this book reaffirmed why I love this genre in the first place. For one, the books are light and fluffy. There isn’t too much drama, and the drama that is has is well placed and adds a little pizzazz to the book. Secondly, the characters are adorable and so much fun to hang with. I love down to earth and relatable characters, and this is what you get from chick lit novels. Finally, the covers. I love a great chick lit cover, and it not only draws me to […]

I Heart Forever by Lindsey Kelk

I Heart Forever by Lindsey Kelk

Based on the way this one ended, I really hope this won’t be the last book in the series. I mean, to see Angela in her new role(s) would be absolutely amazing! I don’t want to say what these roles may be in case you are waiting to read it, but if you MUST know you can find it in this (view spoiler). Anyway, the I Heart series has quickly made it’s way into my heart as I have been slowly devouring this series over the past year in order to be ready for this book. Now, while it’s certainly not my favorite book in the series it still quenched my needs and made me all sorts of giddy.  One of the best things about this […]
