Restaurant Weeks Are Murder by Libby Klein

BOOK REVIEW I just adore this series! Poppy is such a fun character with a sparkling personality and sense of humor. Not only am I devouring the mystery but I am laughing at the things she thinks and says. Another thing that makes this series is Poppy’s great aunt Ginny. She reminds me of Grandma Mazur from the Stephanie Plum series- she’s silly, quirky, and downright hilarious! Overall, I think this is one of the best cozy series around (I place it in my top 5 favorite cozy series of all time), and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre.  In this installment, Poppy is taking part in Restaurant Week which is a cooking competition. Poppy is working with her ex fiance Tim […]

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

99 Percent Mine was one of my most anticipated books of January 2019. I think it’s mostly because so many people rave about Thorne’s books. Don’t get me wrong, her books are good and I enjoyed this one but it wasn’t a favorite of mine (hence a 3.5 star review). I guess I was hoping for a bit more depth in the characters. It would have been nice to have seen a little bit more of Darcy and Tom’s past (clearly, the two loved each other since childhood), a bit more twin-tuition (why add twins to the story line if they don’t FEEL like twins, and a lot more information into the heroines medical condition (that would have really added something to the story as […]

The Great Escape by Charlotte Fallowfield

The Great Escape by Charlotte Fallowfield

The Great Escape is another laugh out loud novel from Charlotte Fallowfield! While it is part of the Dilbury Village series it can be read as a complete standalone. If you have read the first book; Never the Bride you will recognize some of the same scenes as the books take place around the same time (i.e. turdgate LOL). Anyway, I really enjoyed this one. It’s super cute, funny, and features my favorite secondary character from Never the Bride.  Georgie’s love life had taken a turn for the worst when she found out her fiance was cheating on her with a local barmaid. So her and her BFF Abbie take a little trip to Mexico to drown their sorrows in booze and sunshine. Who cares if the […]

Class Mom by Laurie Gelman

Oh my gooooosssshhhhh!!!!! This book is wacky, over the top, and funny as hell! I have been crying/laughing for the past few hours reading this book and I couldn’t get enough of it! Laurie Gelman better be writing a follow up to this one because if she doesn’t I will cry forever! Like, the ugliest of all ugly cries. You know, total snottage, weirdly shaped face kind of cry. It’s just to freakin perfect to stand on it’s own. I mean this will all sincerity too.  The heroine/mom who is the main focus of this story reminds me of Katy Mixon (aka Katie Otto) from American Housewife (that hilarious tv show on NBC). She has the most insane sense of humor- the kind that will […]

Never the Bride by Charlotte Fallowfield

Never the Bride by Charlotte Fallowfield

I have always been a fan of chick lit novels but for the past few years I have pushed many books aside that reside in the genre in favor of romance books. That is going to change in 2019 though and I am starting it off with a bang! Never The Bride by Charlotte Fallowfield is everything that I love about chick lit. It’s charming, funny, relatable, and lighthearted. It may not be the most realistic of books out there (like most books we read anyway) but it’s extremely enjoyable in every other way. There were many moments (especially one scene that takes place in a local castle) that had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my face- and I couldn’t stop! […]

Thirty-Two Going On Spinster by Becky Monson

This is a really cute chick lit novel that had me laughing almost all the way through. While I did feel that the main character was a bit immature for her age, it was good to see her grow as a character throughout the book. I am not going to write a long review because this is an older book but I do want to say that I did enjoy this one and would read the second installment in the near future.

We Were on a Break by Lindsey Kelk

Lindsey Kelk is an amazing author and I highly anticipate her releases. So when I saw she was releasing a new book (this one) I knew I had to read it! All of my TBR pile was actually put on hold so I could dive into this one and I was not disappointed in the slightest! While I did find it to be a little more slow than her previous release (Always the Bridesmaid) I still enjoyed this one immensely. The characters – Liv and Adam – were a riot (and slightly sad, but for reasons you will see when you read it), the secondary characters were just as good (I would love to see a spin off with them) and the plot engaging. Who […]

The Single Girl’s To-Do List by Lindsey Kelk

I have been a fan of Lindsey Kelk’s work for a while now and have slowly been making my way through her novels. This one in particular has been sitting on my TBR shelf and kindle for a few months and I picked it up because of the GORGEOUS and FUN cover. I am so glad that I have actually gotten around to reading it. The Single Girl’s To-Do List is a breath of fresh air and pure chick like GOLD. It’s got a fantastic set of characters, a realistic and relatable plot, and a little bit of an unexpected romance to bring a smile to readers face.  For those who aren’t too familiar with chick lit novels, I want to tell you the basic […]

What Fresh Hell by Lucy Vine

What Fresh Hell is the perfect spring read. It captures the busy wedding season impeccably and has characters any female can relate to. Oh, and I don’t want to forget the laugh out loud moments that are thrown throughout the novel! I laughed a lot while reading this one. Ladies, this is a great book to anyone who loves books based around the wedding season.  Lilah Fox is living a perfectly serene existence. She has a great job, a nice boyfriend, and a handful of friends that all girls hope for. Unfortunately, this serene existence is coming into an upheaval because it’s WEDDING SEASON. These weddings (and there are many) are taking over Lilah’s life (and her bank account). And then a bombshell is dropped. […]

A Summer Scandal by Kat French

A Summer Scandal by Kat French

Kat French has done it again! She put a HUGE smile on my face with this story and invoked so many feelings of pleasure! After reading some pretty intense romances, I knew I needed to read a lighter read to lift my spirits up and this did just that. I loved the scandal, the tiny bit of drama used to keep things interesting (Gladys!) and the wonderful ending.  If you are a chick lit reader and love books that remind you of the beach, summer, and fun then this is the book for you! Ladies, if you need a cute book for your summer beach bag then grab this one! And if you just want to explore a new place then I recommend this one.
