The Perfect Couple is an excellent beach read! I flew through this book even though it is close to 500 pages. There is drama, mystery, forbidden love, family tension, and so much more! It’s like reading one of the best soap operas! I just loved it so much. I haven’t read many of Elin Hilderbrands novels but the ones I have are all top favorites. I guess I need to go ahead and grab all the books in her backlist! I think anyone who loves a juicy women’s fiction novel is going to want this book (I also loved The Rumor which is just as dishy!). The Perfect couple combines an amazing family drama and a mystery. On the morning of Celeste’s wedding she finds her maid […]
Coming Home to Holly Close Farm is a gorgeous story about a woman who, after finding out her boyfriend is married, goes home to her family. In doing this, the heroine now only learns to live on her own, but the secrets of her family that go back generations. Julie’s ability to weave Charlies story within the history of her family is magnificent. I felt the anticipation of learning more information and loved how Charlie was awakened through the history. All in all, it’s just a beautiful story and elegantly told. I love the how humor was sprinkled thought the story, and I love the feeling of family. If you are looking for an original and classic read, I very much recommend this one.
This is one of the funniest chick lit books I have read in a long time! I enjoyed every single second of it and frankly, did not want it to end. Everything about it is light-hearted, breezy, and downright hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud almost the whole way through. It’s like the main character Dottie says all the things us parents want to say out loud but can’t because we would look extremely rude. Gosh, this book is just a blast! Readers who are interested in this book should note that while it is a part of an overall series featuring Dottie, one could easily read it as a standalone as I did. I don’t feel like I missed anything crucial that were […]
The Sunshine Sisters by Jane Green is a phenomenal novel about the complexities of families. Green dives very deep in this one and I found it to be a moving novel with down to earth and lifelike characters. What I also liked about this novel is the fact that I was hooked to the pages. Sure, a lot of books are catchy and grasp their readers attention from beginning to end, but somehow, this one was different. I was EXCITED to read it. I wanted to pick up the book even when I was busy (summer is such a busy time of year in my life), and I absolutely did NOT want to put it down. I was enthralled in the lives of these characters […]
I have not read a good chick lit book / romantic comedy in a long time! Prior to getting into romances these types of books were my go-t0. Gah, what have I been missing? I totally adored this book. It is light, fun, entertaining, and quite “real” as I am sure we have all been in the character’s shoes once or twice in our lives. What really got me hooked to this book though is how chaotic everything was! Normally this could be confusing to readers but with this one it’s what gets us readers laughing in the first place. Who knew that Claire’s mother had such a mouth on her? And how is it possible that Claire mistook Excedrin for Ambien. Ha ha, I […]
