Murder on Cape Cod by Maddie Day

Murder on Cape Cod was released exclusively at Barnes&Noble a few months ago. It is not currently available on amazon but will be released there on December 31st. I happened upon this book at the bookstore in my area and had no idea it wouldn’t be released through amazon until the end of the year! Not that I care all too much because I really enjoyed this one.  This is the first book in a new series by Maddie Day. It features a heroine who is a cozy mystery lover herself (she actually takes part in a cozy mystery book club), and therefore will resonate with fans of the genre. Maddie Day peppered some popular mysteries throughout the book which I found really cool while reading […]

Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicides by Tonya Kappes

Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicides by Tonya Kappes

Visiting Normal, Kentucky is always a wonderful experience! Tonya Kappes writes the heck out of this town and I love everything; the characters, the setting, the mystery, and even the romance that is beginning to form nicely between Hank and Mae. If there were ever a fictional town I would be able to visit this would be it- hands down! The people of Normal are just so sweet, tight-knit, and friendly. Not only that, the small town feels just speak to me. If it weren’t for Tonya’s ability to write the way she does I wouldn’t feel this way. So thank you! Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicides is the 7th book in the Camper & Criminals series. Each book does feature a new mystery but I […]

Deadly Vows by Jody Holford

Deadly Vows by Jody Holford

I love the Britton Bay mystery series by Jody Holford! It’s charming, unpredictable, and a whole lot of fun! There’s even a blossoming romance within it that will make any reader smile! Deadly Vows is the second book in the series and I recommend reading all the books in order as they follow the same sleuth (just different murder mysteries). In this one, a wedding has come to the town of Britton Bay! Normally, weddings are supposed to be fun and full of love and adoration, but when people push their own ideals on what the wedding is supposed to look like and hire over the top celebrity chefs things get a little… wild. That’s not all though. A murder shocks not only the town […]

Leave No Scone Unturned by Denise Swanson

Leave No Scone Unturned by Denise Swanson

Leave No Scone Unturned is the second book in the Chef-to-Go mystery series! One of my favorite things about this series is how Denise Swanson makes the murder so complex. They aren’t your average mysteries where it’s easy to spot the killer and the actual murders that take place are big deals. It’s not over something small. This makes the stories much more intriguing and easy to devour. That being said, I recommend that if you chose to read this series that you read the books in order. Some cozy mysteries can be read in whatever order you choose but this series has a budding romance and friendships that need to be followed in order. Otherwise, things will be spoiled.  If you are a fan […]

Canyons, Caravans, & Cadavers by Tonya Kappes

Canyons, Caravans, & Cadavers is the 6th book in the Camper & Criminals cozy mystery series! This series is a must read and one that I can’t help but devour. These characters are some of the best I have read and I feel a deep connection with them all. Normal Kentucky is also an amazing fictional town. I can almost smell the flowers and feel the breeze coming off the pages! Tonya does a wonderful job when it comes to describing the setting and the cute campers! If I were to ever travel I would want these types of campers to live in myself!  With that being said, this is an amazing series! The mystery is fantastic- I honestly didn’t know “who-dun-it” until it was […]

One Potato, Two Potato, Dead by Lynn Cahoon

One Potato, Two Potato, Dead by Lynn Cahoon

One Potato, Two Potato, Dead is the third installment in the Farm-to-Fork mystery series! Lynn Cahoon is a wonderful mystery writer and I am always anxious for her next novel (especially within this series). She makes her characters lovable, tough, and charming. With that being said, I truly love this series and think this is the perfect addition. While I wish there were more recipes included (I love to replicate them) I didn’t have any issues with the book overall. I think the mystery aspects were fantastic, I didn’t figure out the killer until it was revealed (although I admittedly had my suspicions) and I loved all the talk of soup (soup was the prominent source of foods throughout the book).  If you are a […]

Trouble on the Books by Essie Lang

Trouble on the Books is the first book in a brand new cozy mystery series! This book features a heroine who has just opened up a new bookstore in her hometown of Alexandria Bay. While this is interesting in itself (us bookworms LOVE bookstores), it’s even cooler to see that this bookstore is in a castle! I love stories with original settings and this is exactly what I got with this novel. Aside from the setting I found that I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Shelby is a woman after my own heart and she takes pride in what she does. Not only that, it’s clear that she feels deeply for her family. The only thing I felt was missing in the novel […]

A Charming Blend by Tonya Kappes

A Charming Blend by Tonya Kappes

For a short novella this story sure packs a punch! I loved it! Tonya Kappes has become a favorite author of mine within the last year and a half or so and I am always aching for more books of hers (while continuously reading her back list of novels). In A Charming Blend, readers will be reacquainted with two favorite sleuths- June Heal from the Magical Cures Mystery Series and Roxanne Bloom from the Killer Coffee Series. This was a wonderful surprise for me because both of these ladies are so perfect on their own and seeing them together makes the story even more magical!  In this installment, Roxy and her husband visit Whisper Falls (home of June Heal) for their honeymoon. But things don’t […]

Motorhomes, Maps, & Murder by Tonya Kappes

READ MY BOOK REVIEW Motorhomes, Maps, & Murder is the 5th addition to the Camper & Criminals cozy mystery series. I recommend reading all these books in order. If you are a kindle unlimited subscriber you can read this series for FREE (and I highly recommend it). That being said, this is another fantastic novel in the series. I read it in one sitting as it isn’t a long novel but it sure packs a punch. In this installment, Mae and her team of friends are laying low because a serial killer is on the loose! Hopefully because she is dating the sheriff she won’t get tossed in the cross hairs of the killer… Friends, this is one of my top 3 favorite cozy mystery […]

It’s Your Party, Die If You Want To by Vickie Fee

Short Review: I enjoyed this book. It’s got action, a cool sleuth, and great party planning ideas. However, some aspects of the book were a bit slow for me and I couldn’t have cared less to continue reading it or not. It’s just not one of those books that leave you eager for more. That said, I will continue the series because I enjoy both Liv and Di, but also because I own the other books and I don’t want them to go to waste.
