Death by Committee is the first book in the Abbey Mcree mystery and I found it to be an impressive debut in the series! I devoured this book. It’s such a fun mystery with awesome characters and an engaging mystery. There’s even a blooming romance! If you are looking for a new cozy mystery series to try I recommend this book. The second one will be out on August 27th and I am so excited to read it (the cover is super cute too). In this book readers will meet Abbey, Tripp, and the ladies of the quilting guild. I don’t know if this book will revolve around a quilting theme but I thought it was cute and I have never read one with it […]

Canyons, Caravans, & Cadavers is the 6th book in the Camper & Criminals cozy mystery series! This series is a must read and one that I can’t help but devour. These characters are some of the best I have read and I feel a deep connection with them all. Normal Kentucky is also an amazing fictional town. I can almost smell the flowers and feel the breeze coming off the pages! Tonya does a wonderful job when it comes to describing the setting and the cute campers! If I were to ever travel I would want these types of campers to live in myself! With that being said, this is an amazing series! The mystery is fantastic- I honestly didn’t know “who-dun-it” until it was […]
Yes! I have found another cozy mystery series that I am obsessed with! Deadly News is such a fantastic new cozy and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment. This is the first in a brand new series by Jody Holford and features a sleuthing newspaper editor. Moving from California to the charming coastal town of Bitton Bay should be an exciting moment in Molly’s life. She has a new job as a newspaper editor, a charming new cottage to live in, an abundance of new (potential) friends, and a cute man who has caught her eye. But when one of the staff ends up murdered, her whole life is thrown into chaos! She feels guilty for the murder because she […]
Short Review: This book seemed smaller than the previous two but I still enjoyed reading it and following Tallie as she cracked a new case! While I wish there was a bit more buildup in the beginning (everything happened so fast) this is an enjoyable cozy mystery with a cute cast of characters. I will certainly be looking for the next one when it’s released.
Grounds for Remorse is the second book in the Tallie Graver mystery series. Overall, I really liked this one. I read it in one sitting and found myself to be entranced in the story. I think the author is getting better and better as the series progresses as well because I did like it better then the first one. Will I be continuing the series based off this one? Yes, I will. I am really excited for the next one which will be releasing in September. For those who are interested in the series but haven’t read the first book, its about an amateur sleuth who works as both a cleaning lady and a funeral parlor assistant. This is initially what caught my attention when […]
Cremains of the Day is a good start to a brand new cozy mystery series. Misty Simon is a talented author and this is clearly shown through her writing style and storytelling abilities. I enjoyed her characters- especially our sleuth, Tallulah Graver. She’s a fun piece of work and her ability to overcome such adversary in her life post divorce is commendable. The mystery was also very good- I couldn’t figure out “who-dun-it” until the very end. However, I wish Tallulah’s family funeral parlor was used more in the story. From looking at the cover and the title, one would think the story would revolve around or at least be a bit more tuned into her families business but it wasn’t. The main conflict of […]
I am going to keep this review short because I don’t have too much to say about the book. First and foremost, I think this is a good start to the series but I am hoping the books improve as it continues. Otherwise, I won’t waste my money as the newer books are pricey for the length. Next, there were a couple of things that bothered me about this book. First, the series name is A Southern Chocolate Shop mystery. Nothing about this book felt southern to me besides the characters saying where they were from. And when I say nothing I mean ZILCH. There wasn’t any character slang, there didn’t seem to be any southern values, and these characters certainly didn’t have the southern charm I […]
