The Dinner in the Sky by Anne John Ligali

The Dinner in the Sky is an enjoyable read and I felt the characters were very realistic (which is a must for me in any book). Ann John Ligali brang them to life and I felt as if I were on the journey with them! This book wasn’t just a lighthearted read, which is another plus in my opinion, and dealt with real life issues that could affect anyone. I won’t say much else about the story as I think the book should be read instead but I will say that the friendships throughout the book and series is wonderful!  If you are looking for a sweet read with believable characters and realistic plots then I recommend giving The Dinner in the Sky a try. Passport to Happiness by Carrie Stone

Passport to Happiness is the perfect escape! I think this is the perfect book to have in your beach bag if you are planning a getaway of your own! One of my favorite things about the book is how the main character; Everyly, is on a journey of self discovery! She if finding herself through travel and recognizing that life is a beautiful thing. The of course is synonymous with her destinations and it blew me away. I am really looking forward to reading more of Carrie Stone’s books in the future based on this one. Edie Browne’s Cottage by the Sea by Jane Linfoot

Edie Browne’s Cottage by the Sea is a wonderfully uplifting novel! I didn’t realize going into the novel that the book was going to be as emotional as it is and found myself pleasantly surprised! This book is truly one of growth and finding oneself again. I loved Edie to pieces and seeing her struggle and come back from her issues was beautiful. The friendships made within the village where Edie is living were also amazing, and I loved the strong connections they all had.  If you enjoy realistic and heartwarming read this is the novel for you! I was pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out and am very much looking forward to more books by the author in the  future!  Other Purchase links […]

Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicides by Tonya Kappes

Visiting Normal, Kentucky is always a wonderful experience! Tonya Kappes writes the heck out of this town and I love everything; the characters, the setting, the mystery, and even the romance that is beginning to form nicely between Hank and Mae. If there were ever a fictional town I would be able to visit this would be it- hands down! The people of Normal are just so sweet, tight-knit, and friendly. Not only that, the small town feels just speak to me. If it weren’t for Tonya’s ability to write the way she does I wouldn’t feel this way. So thank you! Hitches, Hideouts, & Homicides is the 7th book in the Camper & Criminals series. Each book does feature a new mystery but I […]

Deadly Vows by Jody Holford

Deadly Vows by Jody Holford

I love the Britton Bay mystery series by Jody Holford! It’s charming, unpredictable, and a whole lot of fun! There’s even a blossoming romance within it that will make any reader smile! Deadly Vows is the second book in the series and I recommend reading all the books in order as they follow the same sleuth (just different murder mysteries). In this one, a wedding has come to the town of Britton Bay! Normally, weddings are supposed to be fun and full of love and adoration, but when people push their own ideals on what the wedding is supposed to look like and hire over the top celebrity chefs things get a little… wild. That’s not all though. A murder shocks not only the town […]

The Mother-in-Law by Sally Hepworth

The Mother-in-Law is an EXCELLENT domestic drama and reads like a Liane Moriarty book (The Husbands Secret, Big Little Lies, etc.) Obviously, I really loved this one. It took me a little while to finish it though because I have been in a huge book slump lately, but I always found myself wanting to get back into reading this one. Therefore, if a book is good enough to take you out of the dreaded slump then you know it’s good! This is the first book I have read by Sally Hepworth, but it will not be my last. I am so excited to read her blacklist of novels based on this one.  I went into this book thinking it was going to be like other […]

Death by Committee by Alexis Morgan

Death by Committee is the first book in the Abbey Mcree mystery and I found it to be an impressive debut in the series! I devoured this book. It’s such a fun mystery with awesome characters and an engaging mystery. There’s even a blooming romance! If you are looking for a new cozy mystery series to try I recommend this book. The second one will be out on August 27th and I am so excited to read it (the cover is super cute too).  In this book readers will meet Abbey, Tripp, and the ladies of the quilting guild. I don’t know if this book will revolve around a quilting theme but I thought it was cute and I have never read one with it […]

The Hidden Corpse by Debra Sennefelder

The Hidden Corpse is a fantastic cozy mystery! I devoured this book in a day because I didn’t want to stop reading it. I loved everything about it – the characters, the mystery, the setting, everything! Debra Sennefelder is a new author to be but you can expect me to read everything she writes after this one. She has a way with words that just make readers WANT to read. I am so thrilled! If you are a fan of cozy mysteries, this is a must read book (and series) for you. Luckily, there are currently only two books in the series so readers who haven’t can easily read the two before more are released. I am so excited for the next one! I highly […]

Her Best Friend’s Secret by Anna Mansell

Her Best Friend’s Secret is an excellent read, one that kept me entranced for hours. I actually devoured this book in one day because I needed to know the secret that lay hidden between these women’s lives. Told in alternating POV’s, readers will get in depth knowledge into the psych of all four friends. These ladies are relatable, realistic, and wonderful to get to know. Some aspects of the story though aren’t pretty, but it’s nice to see that flaws effectseveryone.  This is my first Anna Mansell novel and it certainly won’t be my last. If you enjoy women’s fiction novels- those that revolve around friendships, secrets, and some betrayal, this is a must read for you. I know many readers are going to really […]

Deadly Deception by Kate Parker

Deadly Deception is the 4th book in the Deadly series. If you are interested in reading the series you can follow this link to amazon to find out more about it [amazon link]. This is a very clever series, one that kept me entranced throughout my reading. I love the historical elements- I have been on a historical kick lately- and the action and adventure that Olivia finds herself a part of. Overall, this book fits in well with the series, has a wonderful cast of characters, and kept my rapt attention throughout the story. I couldn’t put the book down because of  how interesting I found it to be! If you are a fan of historical cozy mysteries with a ton of action, this book […]
