Trouble on the Books by Essie Lang

Trouble on the Books is the first book in a brand new cozy mystery series! This book features a heroine who has just opened up a new bookstore in her hometown of Alexandria Bay. While this is interesting in itself (us bookworms LOVE bookstores), it’s even cooler to see that this bookstore is in a castle! I love stories with original settings and this is exactly what I got with this novel. Aside from the setting I found that I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Shelby is a woman after my own heart and she takes pride in what she does. Not only that, it’s clear that she feels deeply for her family. The only thing I felt was missing in the novel […]

Blog Tour: With or Without You by Shari Low

READ MY BOOK REVIEW I found With or Without You to be a relevant and original read, one that I had a hard time putting down when I needed to deal with life. Shari Low has managed to write a beautiful story that has just as many laugh-out-loud moments as it does tearful ones. And because of this, I really enjoyed the story. This book illuminates second guessing oneself. It shows the trials and tribulations or marriage and if a person made the right choice and it is done so in a manner that is 100% believable. While I am glad I am not standing in Liv and Nate’s shoes, I am so happy to have been on the journey with them. I have only […]

Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop by Rebecca Raisin

What a lovely story! I don’t recall reading a book by Rebecca Raisin but that will certainly change once she releases more books. I really enjoyed this one. The author incorporated delicious desserts and teas while showing us that sometimes change isn’t a bad thing. I think any reader who is in need of a pick me up should check out Rosie’s Traveling Tea Shop. It’s an eye opening novel and filled with some amazing character growth and experiences. I certainly wouldn’t mind traveling with Rosie and learning a thing or two from her along the way. In the story readers will meet Rosie who is in the process of divorcing her cheating husband. When he calls her a cold fish and a person who […]

Pie Hard by Kirsten Weiss

Pie Hard is the third book in the Pie Town Mystery series. I have come to really love this series and am always super excited when a new installment is added. Kristen Weiss has with transforming her characters to people and I am always happy to catch up with Val and Charlene. Whether these two are baking some pies or solving a murder I always know I am in for a treat! That is no different with this book and I felt the excitement throughout. If you are a cozy mystery reader and haven’t had a chance to check out this series yet I highly recommend it! Not only will you find delicious recipes and an amazing set of characters but you will be itching […]

Restaurant Weeks Are Murder by Libby Klein

BOOK REVIEW I just adore this series! Poppy is such a fun character with a sparkling personality and sense of humor. Not only am I devouring the mystery but I am laughing at the things she thinks and says. Another thing that makes this series is Poppy’s great aunt Ginny. She reminds me of Grandma Mazur from the Stephanie Plum series- she’s silly, quirky, and downright hilarious! Overall, I think this is one of the best cozy series around (I place it in my top 5 favorite cozy series of all time), and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre.  In this installment, Poppy is taking part in Restaurant Week which is a cooking competition. Poppy is working with her ex fiance Tim […]

A Charming Blend by Tonya Kappes

For a short novella this story sure packs a punch! I loved it! Tonya Kappes has become a favorite author of mine within the last year and a half or so and I am always aching for more books of hers (while continuously reading her back list of novels). In A Charming Blend, readers will be reacquainted with two favorite sleuths- June Heal from the Magical Cures Mystery Series and Roxanne Bloom from the Killer Coffee Series. This was a wonderful surprise for me because both of these ladies are so perfect on their own and seeing them together makes the story even more magical!  In this installment, Roxy and her husband visit Whisper Falls (home of June Heal) for their honeymoon. But things don’t […]

An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris

An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris

book review I will be the first to admit that this genre is not one I would normally read. I don’t care for westerns, fantasy novels, or books about alternate histories. However, I decided to read this one anyway because I have been a longtime fan of Charlaine Harris and wanted to see if she could persuade me to enjoy a genre I would normally avoid. Well, kudos Charlaine. I liked this book far more than I thought I would. It’s expertly told, imaginative, magical, and extremely intriguing. Gunnie Rose is a really cool character and her story is one I won’t soon forget. I got caught up in the gun-slinging, the wizardry, and being in a different or alternate time for the US. I […]

Sorry Not Sorry by Sophie Ranald

Read my book review Sorry Not Sorry is a cute and endearing read that any woman can relate to! I devoured this book in one sitting and felt very connected to Charlotte (which is a must have for me). I hope the author continues writing books like this in the future because I will be one of the first people to buy it! I loved this to pieces. In this novel, readers will meet Charlotte. Charlotte has come to a crossroads of sorts in her life as things are beginning to change- just not her. Her best friend and roommate just left and bought a house together and she is still as single as one can be. But when she stumbles upon a podcast that […]

Motorhomes, Maps, & Murder by Tonya Kappes

READ MY BOOK REVIEW Motorhomes, Maps, & Murder is the 5th addition to the Camper & Criminals cozy mystery series. I recommend reading all these books in order. If you are a kindle unlimited subscriber you can read this series for FREE (and I highly recommend it). That being said, this is another fantastic novel in the series. I read it in one sitting as it isn’t a long novel but it sure packs a punch. In this installment, Mae and her team of friends are laying low because a serial killer is on the loose! Hopefully because she is dating the sheriff she won’t get tossed in the cross hairs of the killer… Friends, this is one of my top 3 favorite cozy mystery […]

Bridesmaids by Jane Costello

Bridesmaids by Jane Costello

I know this is an older title but I feel like it would be a disservice not to tell people how freakin awesome this book is! I found myself laughing out loud almost the whole way through. I loved the girls in the novel, how the story revolved around weddings, being a bridesmaid (and never the bride), and friendship. There is a bit of drama towards the end (which was very unexpected), but this book is an all around good read despite this. The only problem with this novel is that it’s not available as an eBook. I think this really sucks because many people ONLY read eBooks these days because they are super easy to just download when your in the mood for a […]
