My Rating :
Two sisters. One unsolved murder. A sickening plot for revenge.
When Mackenzie Wright attends her first real high school party, held somewhere deep in the woods of her small California town, no one expects to wake up the next morning to news of a gruesome murder. Especially not her own sister's.
Just one unsolved murder and whatever's left of the now deserted town.
Mackenzie has spent years with her sister's death weighing heavily on her shoulders, but it isn't until she stumbles across a photograph that changes everything for her. The memories, everything from that night, come flashing back in high-speed technicolor and Mackenzie soon finds herself obsessed with the truth.
Determined to find out what really happened to her sister, Mackenzie relies on that one photograph to give her the answers she needs by embedding herself into the lives of five of the wealthiest men in Los Angeles. Consumed by her need for revenge, Mackenzie infiltrates the world of the rich and elite, only to come face-to-face with an alluring complication in the form of an elusive playboy.
When enemy lines are drawn, Mackenzie has to choose between her loyalty to her sister and the man who has stolen her heart.
Be prepared, the ending of KISS ME WITH LIES will have your jaw dropping to the floor! Holy heck, do we REALLY need to wait until the end of February for the next one? I honestly don’t know if I can wait that long! This book CONSUMED ME. It had me reeling from beginning to end and I am flabbergasted with the way it ended- you’re going to be left HANGING (no pun intended?). Is the cliffhanger worth it? Heck yes! While I don’t want to wait another 3 months for the next book, I did really LOVE this one. It’s filled with the sweetest revenge, unbelievable sex scenes and chemistry (even though EVERYTHING is based on lies), and one hell of a “who-dun-it”. You get a little clarity at the end but not enough to have everything figured out. And boy, I can’t WAIT to see how it plays out. I need it NOW.!.!
I won’t talk about the plot at all. I think readers should go into this book BLIND. That’s what I did (I love the authors books and didn’t need to read the blurb or other reviews before deciding if I should read it or not). I say this because:
a.) it’s better than the blurb described it -I found it incredible, totally imaginative and vicious
b.) preconceived notions CANNOT do it justice and reading it without getting a full idea of the plot
will make it that much more thrilling for you
c.) S.M. Soto writes books that allow you to fully immerse yourself in the books and you’ll really be able to do this going in it blind. It’s honestly just one of those books that you don’t need to know anything about to enjoy it.
That being said, this book is FANTASTIC! I knew after reading ACHE that I was going to be a forever fan of her books and this just solidifies that. I can’t wait for the next one.
** crosses fingers it releases MUCH sooner than February **
