My Rating :
Nine is the ninth book in the KING SERIES but can be read as a standalone. NINE is Preppy's brother.
Stalking is such sweet sorrow...
One chance to make her his.
Preppy's brother is about to live up to the family legacy in more ways than one.
This is the story of Nine, The Tale of Kevin Clearwater.
Nine can be read as a complete standalone.
I never know how to categorize books by T.M. Frazier as they are truly one of a kind. Would I say they are dark romances? Maybe. Although I didn’t find this particulary dark it does have SOME dark elements. How about romantic suspense? A little. While there is some suspense in the story (when it concerns who is going after Lenny) I don’t think it quite fits there either. At least, not totally. Is it romance? Oh yes, there is some romance and it is INTENSE. But Nine and Lenny’s story is so much more than JUST romance. I guess her books just defy the genres!
Nine: The Tale of Kevin Clearwater is a FANTASTIC read. I devoured this one in a day and loved every single word. If you haven’t had the chance to read the other books in the King series you don’t have to worry as this one can stand alone. However, I HIGHLY recommend reading the entire series in order prior to this one. There are so many characters from previous books who make appearances here and you will better understand EVERYTHING if you read it that way.
For those who aren’t familiar with Nine, he is Preppy’s brother. The two didn’t know the other existed until Nine found Preppy in Logan’s Beach. Anyway, Nine has run from some pretty horrible things. He was hurt while in the foster system in the worst ways and becomes hardened because of it. He does have a bit of a softer side though especially when it comes to the girl from his past who stole his heart the first time they met. Unfortunately, he thought she was dead. But fate had other plans for Nine and when “Poe” comes back into his life things get exciting.
There’s drugs, hot sex, killings, and so much more in this book and readers who enjoy anti-heroes are not going to want to miss Nine and Lenny’s story! This is an intense, funny, an fast paced read written in an original and sleek way. I absolutely LOVED IT. I have been reading T.M. Frazier from the beginning and each of her books amaze me! I can’t wait to see where she takes the series (or other books) next! I am already highly anticipating them!
