Monday Must-Haves

MONDAY MUST-HAVE’S (AVAILABLE NOW) Beaches, Bungalows & Burglaries is the first book in the Camper and Criminals Cozy Mystery series. This is one of my absolute favorite cozy series!!! I love the heroine, the setting, and the all around feeling of Normal Kentucky! If you are a kindle unlimited subscriber you will be happy to know you ca binge this series for free!!! [ Series Link ] Another must have (for those who haven’t read it yet) is Surprise me by Sophie Kinsella. I added this book to the first must have list for a few reasons. First, Sophie Kinsella is the author that got me into reading (and chick lit). I read and devoured as many of her books as I could about 10 […]

Christmas, Criminals, and Campers by Tonya Kappes

This is one of my top favorite cozy mystery series! I do hope that Tonya Kappes continues to write more in it because Normal Kentucky and its residents are so much fun! These characters are authentic and written with true Southern flair. The mysteries are somewhat predictable but there is always some sort of twist that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew. And the little added romance that is sprinkled through the story is beautiful! I hope everyone who enjoys a cozy mystery will read this series because it truly is some of the best around.  In this one, Mae West is setting up for Christmas! One would think that people wouldn’t chose to spend time at an RV park/campground in the cold […]

Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews

Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews

Mary Kay Andrews has been one of my favorite authors since I began reading adult books. This is simply because each of her books have a unique plot and her writing style is flawless. Even more, her novels exude southern charm at it’s finest, which is something I really love. With that being said, I felt no different when reading Save the Date and I adored this book to pieces. Cara, the heroine of the story, felt like a close friend of mine and when I finished the story I was pretty sad to see her go. The hero Jack was just as charming as Cara, and seeing the two go through their ups and downs in order to get to their HEA was delightful. […]

Perfect Mishap by Aimee Horton

This is one of the funniest chick lit books I have read in a long time! I enjoyed every single second of it and frankly, did not want it to end. Everything about it is light-hearted, breezy, and downright hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud almost the whole way through. It’s like the main character Dottie says all the things us parents want to say out loud but can’t because we would look extremely rude. Gosh, this book is just a blast! Readers who are interested in this book should note that while it is a part of an overall series featuring Dottie, one could easily read it as a standalone as I did. I don’t feel like I missed anything crucial that were […]

The Pint of No Return by Ellie Alexander

The Pint of No Return by Ellie Alexander

The Pint of No Return is the second book in the Sloan Krause cozy mystery series. What I like about this series is that is revolves around brewing beer which is really original in my opinion. I can’t think of any other cozies that have this as the main attraction (besides the murder of course). Even more, the characters are pretty cool- very relaxed and laid back- and have a lot of “smarts” which seems to be missing from many cozies these days. So overall, it’s a great book. If you aren’t a beer drinker, no worries! You can learn a lot about the product and what it takes to actually brew it through this book. The author clearly did a lot of research in […]

The Cosy Christmas Teashop by Caroline Roberts

This is a sweet and charming novel and I really enjoyed being able to get reacquainted with Ellie, Joe, and the Teashop family. While I wish this book was much more holiday themed, I enjoyed it none the less and can certainly recommend it to fellow readers. For those who are wondering, this is the second book in the series and if interested, you should read The Cosy Teashop In the Castle prior to this one.

A Summer Scandal by Kat French

A Summer Scandal by Kat French

Kat French has done it again! She put a HUGE smile on my face with this story and invoked so many feelings of pleasure! After reading some pretty intense romances, I knew I needed to read a lighter read to lift my spirits up and this did just that. I loved the scandal, the tiny bit of drama used to keep things interesting (Gladys!) and the wonderful ending.  If you are a chick lit reader and love books that remind you of the beach, summer, and fun then this is the book for you! Ladies, if you need a cute book for your summer beach bag then grab this one! And if you just want to explore a new place then I recommend this one.

The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach by Kat French

The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach is a magical summer read! With characters who will make you laugh to a setting so beautiful you will want to visit yourself, this book a must have for everyone’s beach bags! I loved being able to escape to the Greek Islands with Winnie, Stella, and Frankie! They are like the best friends I have never had. So while I was sad to see them go, I am glad I got to “meet” them, if only for a little while! Filled with friendship, laughter, magical gin and tonics, and a little bit of romance, this book is going to be a must have for all chick lit fans! You will love the setting just as much as the […]

Deceased and Desist by Misty Simon

Short Review: This book seemed smaller than the previous two but I still enjoyed reading it and following Tallie as she cracked a new case! While I wish there was a bit more buildup in the beginning (everything happened so fast) this is an enjoyable cozy mystery with a cute cast of characters. I will certainly be looking for the next one when it’s released.

Batter off Dead by Maymee Bell

My Thoughts Maymee Bell (aka Tonya Kappes) is one of my favorite cozy mystery writers! She builds worlds though her words and brings these characters to life. The amount of southern charm that exudes from these characters is precious and one cannot help falling instantly in love with them. The bonus of course is the delicious recipes that are included in the story and I cannot wait to try them! If you are a culinary cozy mystery lover like myself (or a fan of Joanne Fluke, another author of the genre) this book and series is a must read!
