Is it a break? Or is it a blip? 'You've just had a holiday,' I pointed out, trying not to yawn. 'Wasn't that enough of a break?' 'I don't mean that kind of break.' There's nothing worse than the last day of holiday. Oh wait, there is. When what should have been a proposal turns into a break, Liv and Adam find themselves on opposite sides of the life they had mapped out. Friends and family all think they're crazy; Liv throws herself into work - animals are so much simpler than humans - and Adam tries to get himself out of the hole he's dug. But as the short break becomes a chasm, can they find a way back to each other? Most importantly, do they want to?

Lindsey Kelk is an amazing author and I highly anticipate her releases. So when I saw she was releasing a new book (this one) I knew I had to read it! All of my TBR pile was actually put on hold so I could dive into this one and I was not disappointed in the slightest! While I did find it to be a little more slow than her previous release (Always the Bridesmaid) I still enjoyed this one immensely. The characters – Liv and Adam – were a riot (and slightly sad, but for reasons you will see when you read it), the secondary characters were just as good (I would love to see a spin off with them) and the plot engaging. Who knew that one slight problem could ricochet into epic proportions!

Overall, this is a really good read and I would definitely recommend it to fellow readers. It’s funny (some of the stuff that the author comes up with will make you roll around the floor laughing), it’s unique, and connecting with the characters is as easy as having a conversation with your BFF. The drama is a bit high in this one though and there were many times that I wanted to insert myself in the book and slap a few people, but this of course adds to the plot and makes the book what it is. So, if you enjoy chick lit novels that will make you laugh than this is certainly a book for you!
