My Rating :
Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.
He’s not handling it well.
Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:
Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.
A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.
While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.
The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.
As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.
OMG I LOVED this book! Henry is the perfect character! He’s smart, hilarious, and swoon worthy. The things that come out of his mouth are certain to make readers laugh out loud and giggle snort (I did this quite a few times while reading it) so make sure your not reading it in public.
Royally Matched is the second book in the Royally series but can standalone for those who don’t want to read the series in order. Now I personally DID read the first book, but have to admit that I liked this one so much better! I can’t exactly pinpoint why but I think it has something to do with Henry’s character as a whole. Sure he comes off as an arrogant arse, but as he develops and grows through the story (all the while FINALLY falling in love) he becomes one of the sweetest characters EVER!
The heroine of the story, Sarah, is just as good as Henry! She’s smart, albeit shy, and very down to earth. Of course she is the total opposite of prince Henry, but opposites definitely attract and this is PROVEN in Royally Matched.
Another thing that I loved about this story is the concept of the reality dating show. I am a huge bachelor and bachelorette fan so whenever I can find a book like that I pick it up in earnest. So this was an awesome surprise and I was delighted the whole way though! Don’t get me wrong though, the story does NOT solely take place as a dating show competition but the background is there.
With that being said I would HIGHLY recommend this book! It’s so much fun to read, straightforward, lighthearted, swoony, and hilarious! Fans of Emma Chase and those who enjoy romantic comedies with raunchy but fun characters will be good pairs for this book.
