My Rating :
Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he's asleep) toddler a better life.
When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.
With Carter's undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire's panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.
Warning: contains explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse.
OMG this book is HILARIOUS. This book is a laugh out loud, ridiculously funny, romantic comedy that will drain the tears from your eyes. WOW. How have I never read this book, or anything from this author before? You can be sure that because of this book I have already purchased the other ones in the series PLUS the spinoff. Yes, it was THAT GOOD! Seduction and Snacks follows Claire through motherhood and finding the lucky sperm donor of her demon child…
So Claire had a one night stand while in college and never got the guys number afterwards. A month later her period is late and she finds out she is pregnant. Problem is -A.) She never wanted kids and B.) She doesn’t know the name or whereabouts of the guy who knocked her up. Years later she is still moving along in her life. She is working in a bar to support her small family and everything seems fine. But then HE walks in and her life changes forever.
Claire’s sons Gavin is the most hilarious character in this book. He is a loony, devil like child who swears more than a drunken sailer and will make you laugh out loud throughout the entire book. “MOM, Carter has a big wiener” – “What are nipples?” – “Can I call you daddy dicky” – “Oh Shit” – “Do I have a vagina?” – “Mom, let me see your boobs”… This list goes on and on. Freakin HILARIOUS. Is Gavin’s behavior appropriate? No. But this is a work of fiction that is intended to make you laugh until you pee. I can’t wait to reunite with his character in the second book.
The other characters in the book are spot on too. All of them have an amazing sense of humor, they have great dialogues with one another, and their feelings are pure and real. Aside from the humorous aspects of the novel, there is a sweet love story to the book which makes it even better. So, if you’re a fan of romantic comedies (the kind that make you laugh so hard that you nearly pee your pants) than I suggest picking this book up. It has officially become one of my all-time favorite books!
