My Rating :
Fun and flirty Laney gives her life a complete makeover after her career and love life go down in flames. “Smart, sassy, hilarious.” (New York Times best-selling author Claire Cook)
After Laney Delaney gets unfairly booted from her designer job at a bridal boutique and catches her fiancé cheating, she drowns her sorrows in a Frosted Cowboy cocktail—and locks eyes with a sexy stud, Tom, at the bar. And then she meets hot fireman Jake and tepid-but-nice fireman Mike. Faced with a life full of fresh possibilities, Laney embarks on a new career path while stumbling through the L.A. dating scene.
Laney is on the verge of reinventing her life and finding her true passion. But the journey is full of embarrassing bumps, hilarious mishaps and wrong turns. Can Laney find her way and learn to believe in herself—with or without a sexy hunk by her side?
What would you do if your fiancé cheated on you (and then married the woman he cheated with)? Or if, if you lost your job because your boss is much more worried about her and her husband’s status than her employees? These are the things that Laney Delaney faces in the novel Frosted Cowboy. It’s pretty clear from the get go that Laney is facing some really tough things in her life. But fortunately for her, she is (kind of) able to handle these things with humor and a lot of grace. On the other hand, she can’t seem to get out of mishaps as her dating life if plunging (she consistently picks the wrong men) and her new career venture is putting her on the “out” list. Will her life ever become normal again? Or is she destined to live a life of spinsterhood?
I LOVED this book. Everything about it is smart, funny, and fun. This is chick lit at its finest and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Throughout the story we are taken on a journey through Laney’s life as she dives through hoops and obstacles. Readers will cringe at some of her dating mishaps and laugh out loud at her personality and wit. This is truly a great book and I cannot wait to see what Charlene Ross writes up next!
