"Intense, gritty, and full of heart."

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. They lie.
For 21 days she held on.
But on Day 22, she would have given anything for the sweet slumber of death.
Because on Day 22, she realizes that her only way out means certain death for one of the two men she loves.

A haunting tale of passion, loss, and redemption, The Paper Swan is a darkly intense yet heartwarming love story, textured with grit, intrigue, and suspense.A full-length, standalone romantic suspense novel, intended for mature audiences due to violence, sex and language. Subject matter may be disturbing for some readers. Please note: this is not a love triangle.

This book utterly captivated me from the first page. Leylah Attar (author) has woven a tale so powerful that readers feel as if they are in the characters places. I found myself angry, sad, happy, and stunned all in one sitting. This book truly took my breath away and I am so glad I found it. Fellow readers you you have to read this book. It pulls at your heart strings. This story is as unforgettable.

At the beginning of the story I thought I would HATE Damien. But as the story progressed and past secrets and betrayals came to light I started to gain an understanding of his motivations. Skye was likeable right from the beginning. I felt as if I were in her shoes as I was reading. She truly captured the raw emotions of a person who is stuck in the middle and a person who has loved and lost. She is just one of those relatable characters even with the demons she has to fight and the obstacles she has to overcome. In addition to this, I love how the paper swans bring the story together. Who new origami could be so important? All in all, I loved everything about this book. I very highly recommend it!

Side Note: I had a bit of a hard time at first when character perspectives switched. If fellow readers feel this way I urge you to read on because that information that you get when it’s Damien’s turn to tell his story really brings the book together. ::Swoons::
