Liar, liar, pants on fire . . .
College senior Lana Granger has told so many lies about her past that the truth seems like a distant, cloudy nightmare. But she meets her match when she begins babysitting for a volatile, manipulative eleven-year-old boy. Soon after Lana takes the job, her close friend Beck mysteriously disappears. Lana instantly begins fabricating stories - to friends, to police, to herself. Why doesn't her account jibe with those of eye-witnesses? Lana will do anything to bury the truth about that night ... and about her life. But someone else knows her secrets. And he's dying to tell.
As darkly startling and finely crafted as her blockbuster bestsellers Beautiful Lies and Fragile, Lisa Unger's masterful new psychological thriller has already "set the bar for thrillers to come" (BookReporter) and is "guaranteed to keep the pages turning long past the midnight hour." (BookPage)
Shocking. Compelling. Thrilling
HOLY….CRAP… What a ride! This book was CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY (but in a good way). This is the first book I have read by author Lisa Unger and it will not be my last. Unger is quite the storyteller and she leaves readers BEGGING to know what happens next. This is a fantastic novel that leaves us in suspense, glued to the pages, and hanging on for dear life. I found myself shocked, hopeful, and scared all at the same time while reading this book. It was THAT good. It captivated me by the first page and I didn’t want to put it down until the end. I can’t wait to dive into some more of Unger’s books.
The story is about a young woman named Lana who is essentially the byproduct of evil. Having had some difficulties in her past with psychotic breakdowns Lana overcomes her personal demons and attend Sacred Heart College. However, once she takes a babysitting job her quiet life becomes unraveled and past secrets come to light and someone wants her to pay.
This is an awesome book of psychological suspense. Fans of Gone Girl will love this book as it incorporated some of the flair of Gillian Flynn. I highly recommend it. Unger is an author you don’t want to miss out on especially if you are a fan of the genre.
